Meet the Team Winter Sports: Lincoln High’s Men’s Basketball

As the winter sport teams ready for their upcoming matches, we took the time to interview the seniors of Lincoln High School’s men’s basketball team before the start of the season:

Tyler Good

Parents: Michelle Biondi and Shawn Anglim

Years playing basketball: 10

Q. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season?

A. Beating Riverside twice in one season.

Q. What have you and the team been doing to prepare for the season?

A. A lot of conditioning.

Q. How do you hope to improve this year?

A. Make the playoffs.

Q. Any tough opponents you know of?

A. We fear no one!

Q. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from playing basketball?

A. Teamwork is important.

Q. What will you miss about basketball after graduation?

A. Beating Riverside twice in one season [laughs].

Q. Future plans?

A. College but at this time a major is undecided.

 

Tim Houk

Parents: Tom and LeeAnn Houk

Years playing basketball: 10

Q. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season?

A. Playing Riverside.

Q. What have you and the team been doing to prepare for the season?

A. What haven’t we been doing?!

Q. How do you hope to improve this year?

A. I hope we are extra competitive and we make the playoffs.

Q. Any tough opponents you know of?

A. Probably Aliquippa and Lincoln Park.

Q. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from playing basketball?

A. Discipline!

Q. What will you miss about basketball after graduation?

A. The family atmosphere.

Q. Future plans?

A. Study exercise science at a four year university.

 

Angelo Williams

Parents: Scott and Angela Williams

Years playing basketball: 10

Q. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season?

A. Playing Riverside.

Q. What have you and the team been doing to prepare for the season?

A. Really coming together as a team, learning how to work as a whole.

Q. How do you hope to improve this year?

A. Make the playoffs.

Q. Any tough opponents you know of?

A. Lincoln Park probably.

Q. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from playing basketball?

A. It doesn’t matter how talented you are alone because you have to work as a team to get anywhere.

Q. What will you miss about basketball after graduation?

A. Being with teammates!

Q. Future plans?

A. College for physics.

 

Ethan Fotia

Parents: Joseph and Lisa Fotia

Years playing basketball: 8

Q. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season?

A. Playing against Riverside.

Q. What have you and the team been doing to prepare for the season?

A. Doing everything to improve every day.

Q. How do you hope to improve this year?

A. Hopefully we will be able to beat every game and make it to the playoffs.

Q. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from playing basketball?

A. You have to fight through adversity.

Q. What will you miss about basketball after graduation?

A. Teammates and being in the gym every day… You get used to being here [laughs]

Q. Future plans?

A. College to study math.

 

Jordan Recce

Parents: Tona and Nick Recce

Years playing basketball: 8

Q. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season?

A. Making the playoffs- the competition.

Q. What have you and the team been doing to prepare for the season?

A. Conditioning, working hard, getting comfortable doing what we do.

Q. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from playing basketball?

A. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication.

Q. What will you miss about basketball after graduation?

A. Being close with everyone.

Q. Future plans?

A. I want to study physical therapy.
