Hazel “Betty” Walton Vogel, 73

Hazel “Betty” Walton Vogel, 73, formerly of Portersville passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 1, 2016 at her residence in Emporium, PA.

Born December 15, 1942 in Castlewood, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ellen Williams Walton.

Betty worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years, retiring as the Postmaster of Austin, PA. She enjoyed traveling with her companion, Robert McClymonds, living six months in Emporium and the other six months in Fruitland Park, Florida. She will truly be missed by her family.

Survivors include four sons, Larry (Brenda) Lumley Jr. of Chicora, Chuck (Beverly) Lumley of Portersville, Gene Lumley of Emporium, Brian Lumley of Courtland, New York; sister, Myrna (Larry) Eicholtz of Wampum; brother, Bill (Nancy) Walton of Ellwood City; four grandchildren, Jason, Chad, Ethan, and Parker Lumley; two step grandchildren, Bob and Crystal Drake; and one great grandson, Lyland Lumley; and seven step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Vogel, her parents and a sister, Diane Walton.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday September 3 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Elizabeth Wallace of Christ Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
