Police: Man Steals Converter and Battery from Brother and Uses Stolen Credit Card

An Ellwood resident was accused of three separate incidences of theft within a month period. In criminal complaints filed on July 27 and 28, Bronson Michael Lane, 27, was charged with two instances of stealing car parts from his brother and one incident of using a stolen credit card. On May 30 and June 1, Lane stole a car battery and other parts from his brother and sold returned them to Autozone for $263.59.

On June 10, he stole a credit card from a Beaver Falls man and used it to make the following purchases between June 10 and 13: Walmart (Beaver Falls), Lids (Monaca), Kwik Fill (New Brighton), Gulf Oil (Ellwood City), B&B Minimart (Ellwood City) and 7-Eleven (Ellwood City). Lane spent a total of $109.43.

On June 25, Lane stole a Catalyic Converter from his brother valued at $142.15. His brother informed police, who eventually got into contact with Lane. Lane admitted to stealing both the battery and converter. Investigating officers determined Lane used a stolen credit card by watching video footage from Walmart and 7-Eleven.

For the battery and converter, Lane was charged with two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property. For the credit card, he was charged with stealing a credit card and receiving stolen property.
