Community Building, One Soul at a Time

Since 2007, a group of people has been gathering faithfully on the first Thursday of the month to sing, pray and listen to an inspirational talk. They close the service with refreshments and fellowship. This simple, steady injection of “goodness” is changing lives, and even influencing Ellwood City for the better.

Friendships have formed across socio-economic lines, and unprompted people have begun donating items others may need.  Many attendees stay in touch with or  pray for the needs of the others throughout the month.

“Everyone is welcome. Most first timers come by invitation but no invitation or reservation is needed,” says Ellwood City native Norina D’Aloiso Owens.

Owens is a minister.  She and her fellow members ofWomen of Faith International, Inc sponsor this monthly event and invite accomplished speakers, usually from around the region, who deliver inspired and powerful Bible-based messages. “Our speakers tend to attract people with faith, but also people who feel desperate or are inneed of healing are drawn. God has used these gatherings to heal physical ailments, to sooth hurts and to teach us to trust in Him.”

The next meeting will be, as always, the first Thursday of the month – which is Aug. 4, 2016 at 6 p.m at Christian Assembly Church, 315 Eighth St., Ellwood City.

Please join them – all are welcome!
