Four Arrested for Marijuana Possession

According to the criminal complaints, on July 9 at approximately 2:50 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Lawrence Avenue after seeing a vehicle with a flat tire. The driver was identified as Damien Rushauwn Confer, 24, of New Castle. The officer observed a glass jar containing a green leafy substance. Confer, along with the three passengers, denied owning the marijuana. On July 12, all four were charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance. The three passengers wee Joshua Joseph Vignovich, 24, of New Castle; Markece Lamar Miller, 26, of New Castle; and Nicholas Eug Paglialong, 24, of New Castle.

Burglaries in Little Beaver and North Beaver Townships

A resident of Columbiana, Ohio was accused of burglary in Little and North Beaver Townships following incidents in April. According to the criminal complaint, Andrew Vincent Perillo, 27, stole from multiple residences along Kaufman Road. He was identified by witnesses and his vehicle. Perillo stole DVDS, video games, flat screen televisions, video game systems, prescription medications, a DVD player and a laundry basket containing game system controllers, having a total value over $1,500. He was charged with receiving stolen property.

Failing to Pay Cab Fare, Burglary in Wampum

According to the criminal complaint, on July 14, police in Wampum were dispatched for an individual refusing to pay cab fare. The cab driver reported that he had driven Brian Matthew Davis, 42, of Wampum to numerous places in Lawrence County and Ohio and that Davis owed $2,200. Davis told police that he needed to make several errands and didn’t have a driver’s license. He intended to pay the cab fare with money he won in a casino but didn’t have enough. The next day, Wampum police responded to a reported burglary on Beaver Street. The suspect was apprehended and identified as Davis. He had stolen a bag of coins worth $30 from the residence. For the cab incident, Davis was charged with theft of services. For the burglary, he was charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and trespassing.

Bad Checks to Ellwood City Animal Hospital

A New Castle woman wrote a bad check to the Ellwood City Animal Hospital. According to the criminal complaint, on Jan. 6, 2016, Stacey Lorraine McCready, 30, wrote a check to the animal hospital for $1,223.28. The check was returned to the bank with a fee of $12. McCready agreed to pay restitution but never did. Following an investigation by the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office, McCready was charged with filing bad checks on July 11.
