Anthony P. “Tony” Tino, Jr.

Anthony P. “Tony” Tino, Jr. of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 in the Golden Hill Nursing Home.

Tony was born on July 16, 1941 in Ellwood City to the late Anthony P. Tino Sr. and Winifred “Babe” Stoner Tino. He had attended Lincoln High School. Tony served with the U.S. army from Feb. 15, 1966 until his discharge on Jan. 29, 1968 with the Company A 3rd Brigade 6th Infantry Berlin Command. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin), and Sharpshooter Medal.

Tony had worked at his family business, Tony’s Distributing Company, all his life, and was presently the owner and operator of the business. He is a member of the MOOSE #93, Sons of Italy #608, the Eagles Club, the Polish Club, the Polish White Eagles, the Hungarian Home, the Saxons Club, and the former Elks and V.F.W. clubs.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene D. Lotz Tino whom he married on July 25, 1966, his daughters, Becky (Michael) McAllister of Ellwood City, and Beth Ann Guthrie of Castleview, his son, Dennis (Angela) Tino of Ellwood City, his eight grandchildren, and his five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, John (Patricia) Tino of Adelfi, MD, his niece, Johnna (Greg) Brown, and his nephew, Joseph (Madeline) Tino.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A Blessing Service will be held for Tony on Thursday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the cemetery on Thursday by 11:30 am to conduct full military honors.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Tino’s name may be made to the charity of the donors choosing.
