Martha A. Nye West, 70

Martha  A. Nye West, 70, of Thomas Hill Road, Fombell (Franklin Twp.)  passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday evening, June 22 2016 after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in New Brighton PA  on November 1 1945 , to the late Harvey  and  Eva  Steffler  Nye.    Martha  graduated from Riverside High School, class of 1963.   She was a homemaker.  Martha always  enjoyed helping out her family and anyone else when needed.  She avidly attended Lillyville  Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of over  50 years,  Abraham G. “Gary” West III, whom she married on September 18 1965.

She is also survived by a son and daughter and their spouses:  Timothy (and Monica) West, and  Traci  (and Todd) Kingston, all of Fombell. Five grandchildren survive:  Amelia, Abigail, Jonah, and Lydia Kingston, and Thomas West.  Two stepgranddaughters  and one step great grandson also survive: Heather and  Nicole Peterson and Damian.

Martha leaves three sisters and one brother:  Margaret McElwain  and Ethel Moran of Fombell; Faye (and Syd) Schwartz of Cleveland OH;  and Ray (and Karen) Nye of Fombell.

Also surviving are numerous  sisters and brothers-in-law:   Jean Swick and  Rosetta Herbert of New Castle;  Ruth Cortez of Ellwood City;  David  and Lois Peeples of Fombell; Larry and Edna Brown of Kingman AZ; Boyd and Brenda West of Beaver Falls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory West and a brother, Ken Nye.  Also preceding are brothers and sisters-in-law: Carl and Mary Weisz; Robert Herbert; Emery Cortez; Herbert Swick; Paul McElwain; and Patrick Moran.

Friends will be received from 2-4  and 6-8  P.M. on Saturday, June 25 , in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME,  500 6th Street, Ellwood City.

Services will be conducted  on  Sunday, June   26, at   1:30 P.M. at Lillyville Church of God, Hickernell Road, Ellwood City, with the Rev. Dennis Arndt, of Lillyville Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Camp Run Cemetery, Franklin Township.
