John Stambul, Jr., 92, of Elm Street, Bessemer, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in UPMC Jameson.
Born in West Wooster, Ohio on June 11, 1923, John was the son of the late John and Mildred Jurich Stambul. John married the former Mary Frank and she preceded him in death in 1960. John retired from Metropolitan Brick in Darlington. A lifetime member of the Bessemer Croatian Club, he enjoyed playing bocce and gardening. John was a veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII.
John is survived by his children and their spouses; Mildred Cossentino of New Castle, Larry and Cindy Stambul of Bessemer and John and Tina Stambul, III also of Bessemer, seven grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law, Milan and Lois Stambul of Bessemer and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, John was preceded in death by two brothers; Joseph and Tony Stambul and three sisters; Denny Dominick, Jennie Herman and Zora Janiel.
Services for John were private. Interment will take place in St. Lucy’s Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
