Yard Waste and Recycling Calendar Available on Borough Website

The Ellwood City Borough wishes to inform residents that a yard waste and recycling calendar can be accessed on the borough website.

The schedule includes 2016 and 2017. Yard waste pickups will be held for one week each month from May through November, except for October which will have two weeks. Recycling is every other week year round.

The calendar can be viewed here.

  1. The yard waste pick up should be every 3 weeks, and it should have started in April not May. With a mild winter residents were cutting the grass in April. What were we suppose to do with the clippings? I have 3 yard waste containers full of grass clippings and I am forced to mulch when I cut the grass because I have nowhere to put the clippings. Does the Borough Manager and Council realize that grass needs cut every week and not once a month! The schedule for yard waste pick up is a joke, sometimes it is in 4 weeks sometimes in 5 weeks and even in 6 weeks and then in the fall months every 2 weeks. ( Leaf pick up ) I am guessing.

  2. Pete – couldn’t agree more. Borough manager doesn’t realize anything, mainly Bc a lawn service does his yard so he doesn’t have to worry about yard pick ups. Now council, they should have some more input as most of them use this service.

Anymore I have begun to wonder what some do these days ? Hopefully, as there is a lot of people ready to take over and get these people out Bc a change is coming. We need managers and council members who actually manage and council this city. You can’t even get a word in at council meetings Bc all they do is fight about the police schedule. Some just can’t seem to let it go. What then happens is you don’t get to speak or voice an opinion , like people who speed and almost take out kids but it’s ok Bc there is “watch children” signs up right?

Interesting though how they will fine you if you dont cut your grass but make ou wait months for yard pick ups and make you wait forever for this city to change their ways.
