Richard A. Geer, 90

Richard A. “Arch” Geer, 90, of Perry Twp., Portersville passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Ellwood City Hospital.

Born Sept. 14, 1925 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late David and Emily Maloney Geer. He was married for 64 years to Patricia Moser Geer who survives.

Richard worked at the Aetna Standard until its closure. He was a member of the First Church of God. Arch served in the Navy from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific. He was a member of the F& AM Masonic Lodge # 599 in Ellwood City. An outdoorsman, Arch enjoying hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He also enjoyed meeting with friends at McDonalds for coffee with the “Coffee Club.”

In addition to his wife, Patricia, survivors include two sons, Richard A. (Donna) Geer Jr. and Bryan Geer, all of Portersville; two grandchildren, Alissa Schlemmer and Amanda Geer; and one great grandchild, Callen Schlemmer.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday April 6 from 6 until the time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. His pastor, Phil Conklin will officiate the service. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Butler.
