Corona D’Italia March Meeting Brief

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 officers and members observed St. Patrick’s Day at their monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 9 at 5 p.m. The session held at Pizza Joe’s began with an Irish Stew luncheon prepared by the staff and served by Trustee Pudue LaCava, Sentinel Lois DiFrischia and member Jackie Perno. Invocation was given by Trustee Patty Regna remembering all present and deceased lodge members and military personnel.

Orator Valerie Valentino presented candy favors from her decorated table of green and white hats, green flower arrangements in vases, and cups to all in attendance. President Clemmy Sirimarco conducted the business session that followed. Treasurer Louise Vitullo presented the financial reports and reminded members that dues for the 2016 year should be paid in full by March 31. Valentino, scholarship chairman, advised that all information has been forwarded to high school counselors and eligible students may obtain applications from them. Questions may be directed to her or Sirimarco.

The president introduced a new student member, Neisa Carsele, and her grandmother Lisa Carsele. Neisa addressed the members regarding all her involvement in school activities community services and employment. Her membership will aid in applying for the local and state scholarships in her senior year. They were most welcomed by all the members.

Vice president Ann Butchelli and Sirimarco presented and displayed the new framed charter for Lodge #807 issued by the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, Order of Sons and Daughters Italy. Mistress of Ceremonies Mary Quintanilla photographed the session and will add it to the album she is compiling for the Lodge. Rosetta Chontos, Esther Santilo, Connie Caminite and Christine Butchelli were welcomed back having been unable to attend the monthly sessions.

Tentative plans for the annual Mother Daughter Scholarship Dinner to be held in May were discussed. They will be finalized at the next meeting on Thursday, April 13 at 5 p.m. at Pizza Joe’s. The session concluded with social games conducted by Valentino, DiFrischia and member Mary Jane Folino.
