Frank Frederick, Jr., 73, of Perry Twp. passed away on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 in the VNA Hospice. Mr. Frederick was born on Feb. 8, 1943 in Sewickley, Pa. to the late Frank and Dolores Holman Frederick, Sr.
Frank enlisted with the U.S. Army on April 12, 1965 and served until his discharge on April 11, 1971. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Parachute Badge, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Frank worked as a Chrysler-Dodge Master Technician for 40 years. He retired in 2006 from Ellwood City Motor’s. He is a member of the Hungarian Club, a past commander of the American Legion Post #474 in Zelienople and past president of the Ellwood City Packers/Little Wolverines youth football program. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, fixing cars and watching Nascar races.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Gibson Frederick, whom he married on May 13, 1978, his sons, Frank R. (Shana) Frederick of Ellwood City and Jacob Frederick of Perry Twp., his grandchildren, Leah and Gavin Frederick, his sisters, Darlene Phillips of Lisbon, Ohio, Dorothy (Charles) Clifford of Leetsdale, Janet (Bill) Rollins of Fayetteville, Ga., and his brothers, Joseph (Karole) Frederick of East Liverpool, Ohio, Benjamin (Evelyn) Frederick of Leetsdale, Harold “Bobby” Frederick of Lisbon, Ohio, and Daniel (Chrissy) Frederick of Ambridge.
He is also survived by his step-children, Roberta (Jeff) Mandrier, John (Karen) Holman, Joseph Holman, and Gary Holman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Frances Weber.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A Service for Frank will be held on Wednesday at noon in the funeral home with Rev. John Hoogerdrugge officiating. Members of the American Legion post #474 Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. Interment will be at the National Cemetery.
