Benjamin R. Pellicano, 79

Benjamin R. Pellicano, 79, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully into God’s hands on Sunday, Feb. 21 2016 at St. Johns Specialty Care Center in Mars, Pa.

He was born in Ellwood City on Nov. 3, 1936 to the late Rev. Salvatore Pellicano, Sr. and the late Stella Santangelo Pellicano. Ben graduated in 1954 from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, and later King’s College in New York. He served in the US Army from 1959-1965. He was employed until his retirement, as a systems analyst at PPG Industries in Pittsburgh. Ben lived his life for his God and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Chiurazzi Pellicano, whom he married Aug. 27, 1959.

He is also survived by three daughters and three sons: Maria S. Bubb in Tennessee; Rachel F. Pellicano of Seven Fields, Pa.; Sarah P. (and Sean) Stradley of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; Aaron B. (and Beth) Pellicano of Pittsburgh; Saul D. Pellicano of Ellwood City; and Benjamin S. (and Tammy) Pellicano of Fombell. Ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.

He is also survived by one brother, Domenick “Don” (and Joan) Pellicano; and a sister-in-law, Mary Pellicano; all in Florida.

Ben was preceded in death by one son, Richard J. Pellicano in infancy, and two brothers: David and Salvatore J. Pellicano.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the Turner Funeral Home, 500 6th Street, Ellwood City. Services will be conducted at Turners on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 11 A.M., with the Rev. Jeb Bubb, his grandson, officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, North Sewickley.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the donors’ favorite charity.
