Shirley J. Aubel, 82, of Perry Twp. passed away on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016 in the Jameson Memorial Hospital.
Shirley was born on July 28, 1933 in Forestville, Pa. to the late Joseph and Mary Demarsh Thomas. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1951 and the Holy Redeemer Parish. A homemaker, Shirley enjoyed cooking, baking, being with her grandchildren and taking care of all her kids.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Joe) Ketterer of Wampum, her two sons, Jim Aubel of Perry Twp. and Thomas (Lisa) Aubel of Chippewa Twp., her grandchildren, Dave (Mel) Ketterer and Joey (Heather) Ketterer, her brother, Ronald (Mary Ann) Thomas of Franklin Twp., and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ross James “Jim” Aubel whom she married on Sept. 11, 1954 and passed away on Jan. 22, 2015, her sisters, Louise Bleakney and Carmella “Sis” Russo, and her brothers, Vincent Carozza and Ray Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A Blessing Service for Shirley will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Shirley’s name may be made to the Wurtemburg-Perry Volunteer Fire Department.
