Robert A. Landon, 83

Robert A. Landon, 83, of Maxine Drive, North Sewickley Township (formerly of Carrick, Pa.) passed away in his residence on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2016.

Born in Pittsburgh on April 24, 1932, Robert was the son of the late Robert D. and Marie Wiggin Landon. He married the former Bernadette Bannister on Sept. 15, 1970 and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2010.

Robert retired from LTV Steel in Hazelwood in 1991 where he worked as a coke oven operator. He also helped out at his uncle’s bar and restaurant, Wiggins, on the North Side. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Church. Always with his cowboy hat, Robert was known to enjoy a good cigar. He will be deeply missed by his dog, Ali, who stayed with him in his bed, until the very end.

Robert is survived by his children and their spouses; Michele and Darryl Romano of Ross Township, Herbert and Audrey Davies, Jr. of Powder Springs, Ga., two grandchildren; Rob Joswiak of Washington, D.C. and Robin Joswiak of North Sewickley Township and two great-grandchildren; Emma Houk and Tristen Fryer.

Friends will be received on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. Zachary Galiyas. Interment will follow in North Side Catholic Cemetery.
