Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Worship Celebration

The First United Methodist Church will have a worship celebration for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 3:30 p.m.

Speakers include Charles “Mick” Jones, police chief of Beaver Falls and graduate of Riverside High School. Jones is also minister of the Second Baptist Church, Beaver Falls.

Also speaking will be the Rev. Wayne Cleary, ordained minister serving four United Methodist Churches in the Beaver Valley. Cleary is originally from Peters Twp., Washington County, Pa.

The worship celebration is sponsored by the churches of the Ellwood City Ministerium and will be conducted by ministers and lay leaders of Ellwood City and Wurtemburg churches.

An offering will be received to support the Backpack Program in the Ellwood City School District, providing food over the weekend to students who qualify for the free lunch program.

Immediately following the worship celebration, everyone is invited to a homemade soup supper in the church fellowship hall. Soups provided by the churches.
