James O. Yhelka, 50

James O. Yhelka, 50, a lifelong resident of Ellwood City passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital following a short illness.

Born July 1, 1965 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late James Yhelka and Peg Duncan Casuccio of Ellwood City.

Jim retired from VEKA in Zelienople. He was Catholic by faith. Jim enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and fishing. He loved his border collies. His most cherished time was spent with family, especially his brother, Joe.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Leindecker Yhelka who he was with for 17 years, his mother and step father, Peg (Robert) Casuccio of Ellwood City; two daughters, Meagan M. Yhelka of Fombell, Raven V. Yhelka of Ellwood City; son, Jeremiah James Yhelka of Ellwood City; step son, Kyle Hoffmeier of Ellwood City; two brothers, Scott (Anna Marie) Duncan of Sharon, Joseph (Tonya) Yhelka of Ellwood City; grandson, Darius D. Yhelka; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1998, and a nephew Joseph James Yhelka.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday. Nov. 3 from 3 p.m. until the time of the Blessing service at 5 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery..
