Halloween Parade Scheduled For Saturday

The annual Ellwood City Halloween Parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday beginning at 3:30pm and will make its way through the downtown.

Judging will take place at 3:00pm Saturday in the Lincoln High School parking lot. All participants are asked to be in the parking lot by 2:30pm for judging of floats, costumed marching groups and individuals.

Monetary prizes will be awarded in four categories – ages 1 to 5, 6 to 10, 11 to 15, and 16 and older.  First place float prize will be $125.00 and prizes for individuals are $50.00 for first place in each group.

The parade lineup includes:

Elwood City Police car, Ellwood City Mayor Court, Ellwood City Council Members, Ellwood City School Board members, parade judges Sandy Gallaher, John Conway, and Janice Boone, Lincoln High School Marching Blue Band, Lincoln High School Clup of Hope float, Riverside Youth Cheering Association cheer and dance teams, Katie Mulhollen and her walking group, Ellwood City Festival 2015 Little Miss Firecracker Mia Meredith, marching group from Leaps and Bounds Gymnastics, Riverside High School Marching Band, Boy Scouts Troop 806, Dance Expressions float, Ellwood City Lions Club float, Daya Durbin walkers, Dragon tow truck float, Car cruisers, McElwain Brothers, Car Wash of Ellwood City, and Firetrucks.

For safety reasons, there will be no throwing of candy.  Walkers may hand out candy along the parade route.  Only forward marching will be permitted and the parade will not stop once it has started.

The route will circle from the Lincoln High School parking lot down to Lawrence Avenue and stretch west from Fourth Street to Seventh Street before turning east onto Crescent Avenue and returning to the high school parking lot.

The parade committee needs donations to cover prize costs.  All donations will be used for prizes and may be sent to Bette Baney DeLoia, 705 Tara Driver, Ellwood City, PA 16117
